YNGWIE MALMSTEEN Frontman Continues Work On CORNERSTONE Album

January 19, 2006

According to a posting on singer Doogie White's (YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, CORNERSTONE, ex-RAINBOW) official web site, CORNERSTONE bassist Steen Mogensen (ex-ROYAL HUNT) will be flying over to London in the next week to assist White with the tracking of the vocals for the group's fourth album, "Two Tales and One Tomorrow", tentatively due later in the year.

Commented Doogie: "I have finished the writing melodies and lyrics for the new album and demoing them up. I have also been listening to the rough mixes of the new songs, and while I am very happy with them, I feel that some of my vocal performances can be improved on. (the lesson for Doogie is... 'Don't think you can record vocals when you are getting over a cold, you can't!!!') This is an important album for us and I want to be at my very best on it and at the moment that is not the case on some songs. So Steen is coming over to work with me here in London and from the 15 we will then have we will pick 11 to redo vocally and get started on them. The music is tight and heavy and sounding ever so menacing, so we can't have me letting the side down, now can we? The album is not due 'till the autumn now so we have the time to get it right."

Songtitles set to appear on CORNERSTONE's follow-up to 2003's "Once Upon Our Yesterdays" (Massacre) include "Requiem", "Wicked" and "Two Tales and One Tomorrow".

As previously reported, CORNERSTONE have been confirmed for the Norwegian festival Ragnarock, set to take place place August 17-19, 2006. More information will be made available soon.

CORNERSTONE's live album, "Cornerstone In Concert", was released in July 2005 in Japan via Yamaha Communications and in Europe through Massacre Records. The CD was recorded at several shows on the group's debut tour of Europe in January/Febuary 2005. Included in the package is a video clip of live and backstage footage from the band's private archives.
